Grateful Friday
I am grateful for the opportunity to spend time with some really fun-loving people, some of my favorites, at the Fair yesterday. We had so many laughs - I really needed that!
I'm grateful for all my wonderful hobbies and the interesting, intelligent and witty people I have met through them.
Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things. (Phil. 4:8)
I am thankful that the LORD made me who I am. As I get older, I think I am finally growing into the 'features' he gave to me. I will always be grateful to Him that I can give comfort, real comfort, to a hurting friend when it is needed. Yesterday, I had that opportunity. (I pray the LORD gives me a whole lot more of these opportunities to be His hands, feet and heart to those that are hurting.)
The leaves are starting to turn. I'm grateful that I'm able to watch the beauty of G-d's creation transform right before my eyes. Although I am a staunch summer fan, I do enjoy autumn...until it gets really cold, that is.
I'm grateful for my oldest son who is smart, talented, funny, sensitive and helpful. His name, Alex*, means 'helper and defender of mankind', and boy, does he live up to that. That's not bragging, is it? I just don't know that I had much to do with how he is turning out...for any of them, for that matter. G-d has blessed me beyond measure. (*Alex was most popular in the year 1995. How funny, since that's the year my Alex was born!)
For each new morning with its light,
For rest and shelter of the night,
For health and food, for love and friends,
For everything Thy goodness sends.
~Ralph Waldo Emerson
I am grateful for the gift of forgiveness from the LORD.
I am grateful for the gift of music and for friends who are willing to sing with me.
I'm grateful for finding some beautiful piano music that's new to me...produced locally and performed by my favorite pianist, too, which makes me smile.
I'm grateful for the start of the new season of Clone Wars tonight! Woohoo!
I'm grateful for the comfort of having my cat sleep with me in the bed.
What are you grateful for this week?
Comments
I am grateful for those times of reflection and introspection.
I'm thankful for being able to put the past behind me by physically throwing away old, gloomy writings.
I'm thankful for the rain, well sometimes - it's making my grass green again.
And, I'm grateful for the apple fritter that Larry brought me.
I am also grateful for answered prayer -- especially for the seemingly little answers that would go unnoticed if we were not watching for them.
