Grateful Friday

We can only be said to be alive in those moments when our hearts are conscious of our treasures.

How wonderful it was to get a real, heartfelt hug from my almost-17 year old who has been at camp all summer. She looked wonderful and was sincerely pleased to see her mother. And, let me tell you, her mother was thrilled to see her! I am so grateful!

I'm grateful for an entire day at home with no place to be, no appointments and no obligations other than...well...nothing! Oh, I could clean, organize, plan for the coming school year, but I'm just gonna ignore the woulda-coulda-shoulda and enjoy the day of doing whatever I fancy. It doesn't happen often and I'm gonna enjoy it while I can!

I'm grateful today that I have the time and ability to help friends who are in need in my community and that my kids are old enough to stay home without supervision while I do it.

I'm thankful that we have a roof over our heads and clothes to wear.

I had to stop and think carefully (this morning) for something to be grateful for. Not that I'm not eternally grateful for my health, my friends, shelter, clothing and food...I am so very grateful. But, I am at a loss for something...worthy.

So, I am going to just be simple and say that I'm grateful for the opportunity to breathe in the air. To be able to breathe, and sing, and laugh. I'm grateful to be able to think with the intelligence that He has afforded me and for the opportunity to pass on my knowledge to others and to gain knowledge from them, as well. I'm grateful to be breathing and living in this time, at this place...right now.

What are you thankful for this week?

Color! Every now and then I remember that the universe could have been created in black and white. Oh, my. Never a blue sky. No, today I'm thankful for color.

Well now, today, I'm thankful for a day to reflect on things. No obligations, just an at home, quiet day. :o)
