Things That Make Me Smile

It is no secret that I have been going through a rather difficult season in my life.  It happens to the best of us, eh?  I can't help but to notice that my appreciation for the sweeter things in life goes up substantially with the contrast of more trying times.

Just for fun, and a lift, here's some of the things that make me smile.  Perhaps they make you smile, too...

puppy breath

how my cat makes himself into a fur ball with his front paws tucked up under his chest

modern piano instrumental of the old hymns

old photos of my parents

good night hugs from my youngest son

laughing with beloved friends until my stomach hurts

heartfelt worship

a long, hot shower

good hair days

feeling strong

hearing my Mom's voice in my head

the feel of speed upon entering the freeway

that first sip of hot coffee in the morning

snuggling in for another hour of sleep in the morning

singing with good friends

sweet memories

my Jedi boots

getting 'poked' on facebook

hearing of a friend getting engaged

sharing good wine with my bestie

my husband snoring

conversations that last deep into the night

crossing things off the do-list

a clean kitchen and folded laundry

helping a friend in need

making the cashier smile at the grocery store

dreaming about those that you will never see again

sitting in a chair with my legs all tucked up

tea at Marilyn's

finding great new music

thinking about a time when things will be easier

Now, it's your turn...

Hmm... let's see.

Sunny D chasing his tail on the couch.

Jacob laughing.

Reading the 'gratefuls' in the mornings.

The thought of spending time with close friends.

Reading just the right verse or quote that someone posts on FB.

The thought of travel.

Apple fritters with my Starbucks.

Peanut buster parfaits on a road trip.

Long, deep conversations with my bestie.

Conversing without words.

Time with our dear friend, Barb.

Sorry to repeat, but laughing unreservedly with dear friends.

Sitting in my favorite chair with a good book and a cup of tea.

Larry getting all riled up over an injustice.

Talking with my mom.

Looking at photos of shared memories.

Watching SW with my bestie.

Puppy breath . . . it makes me smile, too; and I have not thought about it in years!

I just finished looking at my face in the mirror this morning and saying to myself, "Girl, you do not smile enough. Those lines are in the wrong places."

Cannot believe you posted this today. ;-)
