One Long Day of Driving...Day 19

Distance traveled: 600 miles
Wildlife seen from interstate: vultures, lots of them
Audio book along the way: Farmer Boy
Passengers who enjoyed naps: all but driver
Espresso shots in driver's coffee: 3 (!!)
Price paid for gas: $3.17/gallon
High temperature: 105*
Humidity: 0%
Dust devils spotted: at least 3

Yeah, it was a long day of driving. Listening to an audio book made the miles go by faster, though...and the landscape is so different from ours it was interesting. I'm still fascinated by clumps of alien-looking cacti sprinkled throughout the dry desert-y land. I-10 is pretty tedious, so when I saw a sign announcing Fort Lancaster, it was a good time for a impulsive side trip.

My reward for driving today was a fabulous bellini at Carino's in El Paso...yummy!

Worth remembering:
Accidentally running into Lucy Locket as we tried to grab a couple of letterboxes in San Antonio prior to heading west to El Paso - too fun!

And so, we continue west...
