It's that time of year

Yes, it's that time of year again, the time when you get graduation announcements in the mail. This year Matthew, my dear friend Laura's son, is done with High School and looking forward to his next step of attending Western Washington University. I had the privilege of attending his graduation this afternoon.

I could probably embarrass Matt with tales of his youth since I was there at his birth and have been a part of his life and family for all of his 18 years. But, I won't. I'll just say how handsome he looks with his girlfriend, Marissa.

It's a little blurry, but that is because photos from the bleachers require a lot of zoom and my camera is only capable of so much, y'know? The high schools around here graduate in the Tacoma Dome, the local arena for sports and concerts; that is so they don't have to limit the students on how many guests they invite to the event. Today, there was three high schools graduating; thankfully, we only had to witness one.

Here is the family in the bleachers, waiting for the magic moment...

And 18 years is gone, in a blink of an eye.

...and congratulations to Matthew! We wish you all the best!
