Grateful Friday

For each new morning with its light,
For rest and shelter of the night,
For health and food, for love and friends,
For everything Thy goodness sends.
~Ralph Waldo Emerson

I'm grateful for a new place to be.

I'm grateful for all the beautiful souls I get to be with.

I'm grateful for the One who is with me always.

How about some more quotes to get our grateful thoughts flowing this morning? These are taken from an article in Psychology Today:

Let us be grateful to people who make us happy;
they are the charming gardeners who make our souls blossom.
~Marcel Proust

We can only be said to be alive in those moments when our hearts are conscious of our treasures.
~Thornton Wilder

As we express our gratitude, we must never forget that the highest appreciation
is not to utter words, but to live by them.
~John F. Kennedy

At times our own light goes out and is rekindled by a spark from another person.
Each of us has cause to think with deep gratitude
of those who have lighted the flame within us.
~Albert Schweitzer

The deepest craving of human nature is the need to be appreciated.

~WIlliam James

Be thankful for what you have; you'll end up having more.
If you concentrate on what you don't have,
you will never, ever have enough.
~Oprah Winfrey

He is a wise man who does not grieve for the things which he has not,
but rejoices for those which he has.
~Epictetus

If you are like me, you may want to just sit for a moment and consider all the things for which you need to be grateful. Just take a minute, close your eyes, take a deep breath, and appreciate those things in your life which you would hate to live without.

So, what are you grateful for this week?

I am grateful for a moment to read well crafted reminders to be grateful. A moment of relaxation as the Shabbat begins tonight.

I'm so grateful for the precious people that have graced my life, and for those 'aha!' moments that the Holy One plans for just the right moment.
